Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin! 6/29/2004

Summer Solstice was a hit!  There were many in their pajamas getting extra specials at participating businesses.  Four “Giant Green Lake Gift Baskets” were raffled off, one valued at around $1,000.00 and the other three valued over $300.00 each.  Congratulations to the lucky winners.  Pictured is our new addition to Summer Solstice, the Classic Car Show, which was well received.  The Bed Races sure were fun to watch.  The determination was very evident-even when the wheels fell off the beds, they kept going.  There were many participating in the Cutest Pajama & Cutest Bedroom Slipper Contests.  This year it was done like a fashion show, so all could see.  There were many really good howlers for the “Howl at the Moon” Contest.  To all who took the "Evening Stroll" we hope that you found treasures everywhere you did go.  For those of you that attended, let us know what you liked, disliked, or what we could add.  We appreciate input and are always looking for good ideas!

“Concerts in the Park” started on June 23rd until August 18th.  If you would like a schedule let us know, we would be happy to send you one or just go on our website www.visitgreenlake.com and in the search area put in "concerts in the park" and they will be listed for you.  Come and enjoy, but don't forge to purchase a button while your here because the bands are helping us promote our button sale by giving something to those wearing a button.  Concessions are available during every concert with popcorn, soda, water, cookies, and ice cream (with the little wooden spoon) for a treat or a sweet with great music.  July 21st is our Family Picnic Night for Concerts in the Park with the UW Marching Band performing before Quest and the Rippin' Horns.  Bring blanket or chair and enjoy the music in the air.

Green Lake's 4th of July Celebration is this Sunday with a Pancake Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the American Legion.  In Playground Park starting at 11:00 a.m. there will be Games, Food, Face Painting, Refreshments, Duck Races, Pie & Ice Cream Social, Farm Market, and the Parade at 2:00 p.m. Live music with Jaguar from 1:00-4:00 p.m.  Activities at the Green Lake Conference Center start at 5:00 p.m. until after the fireworks at dusk.  Food, Beverages (No Alcohol please), Live music with Jaguar from 6:30-9:00 p.m.  There will be no Gate or Parking fee for this night.  You can still sponsor the fireworks the day of the celebration and receive our "Green Lake Salutes America the Beautiful July 4, 2004" button.  For a copy of the Schedule of Activities please click here.
