Hello from Green Lake Wisconsin! 3/30/2005

Spring is finally here!  We are having very nice spring weather with people out walking, riding, and best of all just enjoying being in Green Lake.  The picture you see is what it will look like soon in Playground Park.

To let you know what will be happening soon...

So Sorry for my error in February's Newsletter - May 7th (not May 1st as was stated) is the Great City Wide Garage Sale in beautiful Green Lake.  Please remember to make sure the Chamber at 550 Mill Street is one of your stops, as we will be having a sale again this year thanks to donations from our Chamber Members.  As soon as we receive the maps and information they will be in our outdoor racks for you to pick up.  Good luck to those who can make it and hopefully you can find something at our sale.  Hint!  Hint!

Many of the Chamber Committees are hard at work getting ready for your visit.  We've listed some events below...

The Summer Solstice Committee is working on improving Summer Solstice.  This is our big Pajama Party, which will be held on Saturday & Sunday, June 18 & 19 to celebrate the longest day of the year.  There will be more activities to do this year.  More information will follow in the April & May Newsletters.  Participating businesses will be pre-selling T-shirts and raffle tickets in the next month or so, so you can get a head start on the fun.

The 4th of July Committee is working on Green Lake's 4th of July Celebration, which will be on Monday, July 4th.  We will have games, duck races, food & refreshments, a parade, live entertainment, and of course fireworks!  More information to follow in future newsletters.

The Concerts in the Park Committee is close to having a completed band schedule.  There will be 8 concerts again this year, on Wednesday nights in Deacon Mills Park, starting June 22 through August 17.  There will be no concert on August 3, so you can enjoy the Green Lake County Junior Free Fair, August 3-7.  Concerts in the Park buttons will be for sale at each concert for all you button collectors or those who like to have a souvenir to remember 2005's Concerts in the Park.  Again this year the bands will help promote the button sale by using their donated items as a prize to those wearing their buttons.

New during the Green Lake County Junior Free Fair, this year, on Saturday, August 6 there will be 3 Fred Scheer's Lumberjack Shows.

We hope that you remembered to pencil in the dates for Summer Solstice (June 18 & 19), Concerts in the Park (June 22, 29 July 6, 13, 20, 27, August 10 & 17), Green Lake County Junior Free Fair (August 3-7), Fred Scheer's Lumberjack Show (August 6), and Green Lake's 4th of July Celebration (July 4).

Green Lake does have many things-to-do such as shop, dine, stay overnight, golf, fish, boat, swim, canoe, horseback ride, visit interesting places, listen to live music, take a hot-air balloon ride, bike, camp, go bowling, or just come and enjoy the sights.

Until next time, take care and hope to see you soon!
