Personal Note:  Green Lake is looking towards a great 2008!   We hope you can make it to our Green Lake events because it is people like you who make these events successful and fun.  Please feel free to share any comments or ideas about any event(s) that you have participated in.  Any input is greatly appreciated.

Winter in Green Lake

We have snow!!  Snowmobilers are out on the Green Lake County trails.  For up-to-the-minutes trail status please call 920-294-3220 or visit www.greenlakecountysnowmobiletrails.com.  Other fun outside winter activities are ice skating, fishing, cross-country skiing and sledding.  Sledding can be done on Zobel Park's sledding hill.  Please check ice condition before venturing out on the ice.

Winterfest, February 8 & 9, 2008

For a great winter fun event come to Winterfest in Green Lake.  Your hosts are the Green Lake Area Chamber and the Green Lake Kiwanis Club.  Start out Friday at noon fishing in the Fisheree, catch the Green Lake Boys Basketball Game located in the Green Lake School gym and watch the crowning of Miss Winterfest during half time.  Saturday is filled with activities.  New this year will be a Cribbage Tournament at the American Legion Hall starting at 11am with registration at 10:30am and a vintage snowmobile show.  Other activities include outdoor volleyball tournament, HOT food, beverages, games for young and old, soup contest, build a snowman craft, helicopter rides, ice golf and ice bowling (pictured), hovercraft demonstrations, medallion hunt, live entertainment including Karaoke, raffle, Caestecker Library book sale and Willy Porter at Thrasher Opera House on Saturday.  Brochures are here in the office, in the outdoor rack and on-line (click here).

 

Summer Solstice, June 21, 2008

Green Lake's 11th Annual Summer Solstice event with bed races, tricycle races, live entertainment, cutest pajama & bedroom slipper contests, howl at the moon contest, car show, food and refreshments, raffle for Giant Green Lake Gift Baskets, insightful readings, medallion hunt, face painting, specials in participating businesses and more.  Pictured are Summer Solstice cookies that won most creative in last year's cookie contest.
